Meet Olivia Davis, Kavanah Psychiatry LLC Founder
Welcome—I’m genuinely glad you’re here.
I founded Kavanah Psychiatry to offer a kind of care that feels thoughtful, intentional, and deeply human. Before becoming a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I worked for six years as a registered nurse in adolescent and young adult psychiatry. Those formative experiences shaped my commitment to evidence-based, compassionate, culturally informed care, and they taught me that people heal best when they feel seen—not assessed through a checklist.
My background in Social Anthropology has profoundly influenced the way I practice. Studying human behavior, identity, culture, and meaning-making allows me to provide culturally competent, context-sensitive care that respects the uniqueness of each person’s story. You are not just a symptom list or a diagnosis—you are a whole human being with experiences, values, and goals that matter.
I’m especially passionate about supporting young adults navigating anxiety, mood disorders, life transitions, and the complexities of becoming themselves. I meet clients where they are—with curiosity, respect, and a sense of partnership. My approach is warm, down-to-earth, and genuinely collaborative.
When clients feel stuck or ambivalent about change, I often employ a supportive approach that helps people explore their own motivations and make decisions that align with who they want to become. I don’t push clients in a particular direction; rather I help my clients make choices that reflect their values.
I’m known for being responsive, accessible, and deeply invested in my clients. If you’re my client, you have an advocate. The people I work with learn quickly that I am someone who listens closely, explains clearly, and facilitates crafting a personalized treatment plan that allows them to reach optimal functioning.
Outside of my clinical work, you can usually find me in the kitchen cooking or baking (recently, I’ve joined the sourdough obsession), planning my next travel adventure, or playing with my two boisterous Hungarian Puli dogs.
